Kokroma custom designed face masks

Kokroma's response to COVID-19

Since Nepal implemented lockdown on March 24, 2020, Kokroma's team have been engaged in making masks. Some 100,000 masks have now been made and delivered to organisations all over Nepal, Europe, and the USA by March 24 2021.

We offer 4 sizes - 3-6 yr, 7-12 yr, Teen and Mother also called Asian Adult size, and Men also called International Adult size.

Masks can be printed according to your organisation's Design Guide in 1 or 2 colour screen print.

Washing: In order to maximise the life of your mask including the elastic ear or head loops, we recommend a gentle hand wash in mild detergent, squeezing the mask rather than scrubbing. Rinse well after washing to avoid residues of detergent causing any skin irritation. Custom printed masks will maintain their appearance if these recommendations are observed.

Our masks follow WHO guidelines with options for 2 or 3 layers.

  1. Outer layer of either 100% cotton or Poly-cotton (cotton & polyester mix)
  2. Optional Inner filter layer of either 100% cotton or polypropylene non-woven material which will enhance filtration or retain droplets
  3. Innermost layer of a hydrophilic material - 100% cotton. Yarn count: between 50 to 60 threads/cm2

4-ply Elastic can be either ear loop or fitted over the head. For pricing and delivery times please email us at kokromainfo@gmail.com or call our sales at +977 9841908528

Kokroma is born

2019

In early 2019 Kokroma was born with just two staff engaged in product development and manufacturing. It was an exciting time, a time of discovery, exploration and fun - exactly the same feeling that new parents experience on the birth of their first child.

The Nepali Bhoto Set for New Born was our first product and still remains one of our all time favourites.

Summer 2018 - kokroma is conceived

2018

Taking inspiration from the Finnish Baby Box, Kokroma created the first Nepali version of the Baby Box complete with dozens of items for mother and child. Read Our Story Here

all made in nepal

eco-friendly

Most of the fabrics we use are woven by prisoners in Nepal. These fabrics are made to a very high standard and the quality of workmanship is some of the highest in the country.

By using textiles made in state prisons, Kokroma is promoting the work of prisoners who have been taught weaving skills, providing them with an income to support their families back home.

Fair Pay for Women Tailors

Kokroma is small scale production focused on quality with women who take pride in their
work and have the opportunity of flexible hours; working to their own clock. This allows greater access to employment for those who have a lack of mobility and space.

When you buy from Kokroma you will bring joy and economic benefits to all of these artisans at the same time as adding great value to your child's healthcare.

a summer of inspiration

finland

The idea of Kokroma came after our founder, Rewati Gurung attended the University of Helsinki Summer School, “Gender, Culture and Politics” in 2015.

As part of the course, she learnt about the Finnish Baby Box and the benefits that have been brought to Finnish society. Then, after years of research in handicraft and social entrepreneurship in Nepal, finally Kokroma was born. We aim to revive the authentic traditional Nepali infant clothing and its indigenous knowledge regarding baby care
with a contemporary design aesthetic by adopting the basic principles of the Finnish Baby Box.
